Shows a house on a cleared plot of land, surrounded by bush-clad hills. The land is fenced and there are cows grazing adjacent to the house
Taken from the Vincent Brooks lithograph of 'A "bush" section on Green Island, Otago (Fox Lodge)', which appears in C.F. Hursthouse's 'New Zealand, or Zealandia, the Britain of the South' (London: Stanford, 1857), p.239. See also A-256-013: 'A bush section on Green Island, Otago (Fox Lodge)'
On the verso is another copied pencil drawing, entitled 'Valley of Misocco', showing a castle and the view into a valley looking towards Soazza, Switzerland, originally by William Henry Bartlett (1809-1854)
