Description

A man in a suit holding a briefcase looks at two enormous queues, and a young man in a jacket and jeans explains the difference between the two lines: one is to buy shares in Might River Power under the National government's privatisation scheme, and the other is the line for unemployment benefits. Context: 440,000 New Zealanders have pre-registered their interest in buying shares in Mighty River Power. According to Auckland Action Against Poverty, as of 7 February 2013, there were 163,000 people officially unemployed and another 284,500 jobless in New Zealand.
