- Description
Uncle Sam reels off a list of things the United States has given the world and asks plaintively 'Why aren't we loved?'. The cartoonist comments 'Beats me!'
In the list, along with neutral and positive gifts such as jazz, Marshall Aid, hamburgers and pizza, are positive evils such as intolerance, their foreign policy and normalisation of torture. The United States' gifts are a mixed blessing.
