Description

Shows Prime Minister Muldoon dressed in a black singlet and holding an executioner's axe. He is about to execute Derek Quigley the Minister for Works and Development and asks him if he would like to change his name to 'Muigley'. On the wall nearby is a row of 'Muldoon's many massacres' - Marshall, Moyle, Minogue and Mahon. Context: Derek Quigley became the latest individual to fall foul of Muldoon when he was demoted to the back bench for criticisng his economic policies. The others were Jack Marshall, Colin Moyle, Mike Minogue and Justice Mahon. The alliteration was irresistable! Quigley bought the original of this cartoon. (Context note by cartoonist)
