- Description
Refers to the 'teapot saga' as a 'shameless political stunt' fuelled by 'hubris', costing a lot and lacking in integrity. Context: Refers to the 'cup of tea' which was a publicity stunt between PM John Key and ACT candidate for the Epsom by-election John Banks; the conversation between the two was recorded by a cameraman - Key tried to suppress the recording and demanded the cameraman be charged. Lawyers for freelance cameraman Bradley Ambrose, Prime Minister John Key, and the police struck a deal over the so-called "teapot tape" affair. The deal, involves Mr Key and Act's Epsom MP, John Banks, accepting a "letter of regret" from Ambrose in return for the complaint against him being dropped.
