Description

Shows George Chapman, National Party president making a speech in which he advises thrift. Nearby PM Muldoon shovels money out of a bag into the bag of a man representing National Super. A man representing 'personal taxes' looks disgruntled and another man representing 'restructuring' limps in using crutches. Context: At the time of the National Party conference party policy and Government policy were becoming ever more out of alignment. George Chapman was party president at the time and was a notable critic of Muldoon's policies.
