- Description
Shows a Japanese trireme as a Roman trireme. A boat carrying New Zealand Customs officers draws alongside to find out about the conditions of the foreign fishermen on board. The trireme was rowed by slaves - a condition not unlike that experienced by the crew on board some foreign fishing vessels that fish in New Zealand waters.
