Description

President Assad of Syria appeals to an unenthusiastic Vladimir Putin for help in crushing the Syrian uprising.

President Assad's Syria had been closely allied with the Russian Federation in matters of foreign policy. But, with the continuing rebellion, President Putin was less willing to help. The relationship between Syria and Russia had resembled that of a minor gangster to the 'Godfather' of a Mafia crime family. Hence the reference to the 'Godfather' films.
