- Description
This remark is made by one of two men on a battered Greek column, standing alone amid a scene of desolation. A paper with the word 'elections' lies in the corner of the cartoon.
Contrary to the fears of the European financial community, the results from the general elections held in Greece had not produced a radical government which could repudiate the national debt. The Greek economy was still in ruins.
