Shows Waikato city councillors falling ill in the plush Stadium lounge when they hear that their subsidized use of the lounge is being axed. Cheap hospitality for city councillors in a plush Waikato Stadium box has been axed. Waikato City councillors have always enjoyed access to the lounge at a heavily discounted and subsidised rate, with city ratepayers and Montana Catering paying most of the cost. But councillors have erupted over the move, claiming they had always thought they were paying their way and asking why staff hadn't told them of the subsidy sooner. (Waikato Times 13 March 2012)
