Description

The media is starting to ask hard questions of the government about ethics and principles. The 'Banks-Dotcom affair' refers to ACT Party leader John Banks who received a donation from internet millionaire Kim Dotcom during his campaign for the Auckland supercity mayoralty in 2010 but he declared it as anonymous in his campaign returns. The PM's 'Pokies deal with Skycity' refers to the government's offering to alter legislation so that Skycity could have more pokie machines in return for Skycity's building of a new convention centre without funding assistance from the government.
