Relates to a visit made by Prime Minister John Key to Australia at the end of January 2012 when he had talks with Australian PM Julia Gillard about improving the Trans-Tasman relationship. Australian authorities want access to Kiwis' criminal records amid fears that people are crossing the Tasman to continue lives of crime after entering Australia without declaring criminal convictions.
