Description

In four frames a group of godwits chat as they fly. One of them says that the difference between godwits and humans is that godwits navigate the globe without GPS and flock together to avoid problems before it's too late. This last is said as they fly over the oil slick leaking from a ship. Context: refers to the 'Rena' disaster. The container ship 'Rena' is breaking up on the Astrolabe reef off the coast of Tauranga and is spilling oil, threatening coastlines and birds. The 'godwit' reference is about the return of godwits to Christchurch each year.
