Album of photographs, ephemera, and documents relating to George Hildebrand Alington's time working for the the Indo-European Telegraph Department in India and Iran, his move to New Zealand, and his family in England and New Zealand.

Letter recording the termination of George Hildebrand Alington's employment with the Indo-European Telegraph Department dated "Kurrachee, 22 May 1874."

Order transferring George Alington to Karachi dated "Bushline Station 16th Dec. 1871."

Document certifying that George Alington has been a good employee, and has left the Department at his own request, dated "Kurrachee 22 May 1874."

Letter to an editor containing a comic poem farewelling an unidentified person (probably George Alington, as the subject of the poem is giving up being a sahib and relocating to Rakaia, Canterbury, New Zealand).

There are also watercolours of English scenes, and Christmas and new year greeting cards.
