Cartoonist notes follow: Its main theme is the VSM (Voluntary Student Membership) Bill. I use the London riots as a metaphor... in particular the famous incident where a foreign student with a broken door was mugged by rioters who pretended to be helping him. I've slipped in the AB jersey issue as another layer (forgive the pun) which was raging here at the same time ie. Brits have been able to buy the 'All Black' jersey in Britain for half the price it is here in NZ (in this cartoon, another form of looting!) The only real person I've depicted is Heather Roy.
