The cartoon shows the Springbok coach, Peter de Villiers, who is enveloped in a large Springbok jersey but has lost his limbs. He says '21 injured players out but when we pull on the 'Bok jersey we grow another limb!!...' The limb in question is a very long nose - a Pinocchio nose which increased in length with every lie. Context: A South African news report suggested that the players who were not in New Zealand for Saturday's test against the All Blacks were with technical director Rassie Erasmus at a training camp in Rustenburg despite missing the trip because of "medical reasons". But de Villiers said after the South Africans arrived in Wellington yesterday that he was surprised when told that players had been training. (NZherald: 28 July 2011)
