The title reads 'Political caddies...' The cartoon shows President Obama about to take a swing at a golfball. He is standing on a golf course at the bottom of a huge crater that represents 'DEBT'. Obama asks John Key who is standing on the green above what he thinks he should do and John Key replies 'Pose with me for a photo of course!' Context: John Key had an hour-long meeting with President Obama during a recent visit to the United States. Key was keen to talk free trade but it was very evident that Obama had much bigger things to worry about as the United States edged closer on Tuesday (26 July) to a devastating default as Republicans and Democrats deadlocked over competing plans to raise the debt ceiling, one week before a deadline to act.
