Context - William Webb Ellis was the Rugby School pupil who according to popular myth invented the game by picking up the ball during a game akin to one of the many codes of medieval football. The winners of the Rugby World Cup are awarded the William Webb Ellis Cup. (Wikipedia) The Rugby World Cup is being held in New Zealand this year and is regarded as a major event expected to attract a great deal of interest and to create wealth.
