View looking towards the Kaihu Railway Station, Northland region, with a narrow road to the left of the railway line, and stacks of sawn timber to the right of the line. Railways rolling stock is on a siding, centre right. Man standing to left of the tracks is possibly Peter Batistich. He is standing outside the family home, which also housed a pool room and boarding house. Photograph taken by Albert Percy Godber, 1912. The Batistich family home was later a general store until the depression of the 1930s. The building was lived in by the family until the early 1960s.
