Six humorous sketches each accompanied by some verses of rhyme, telling the story of New Zealand from the days of the Maori and Moa, to the prosperous present days where Maori are used as labourers. The first scene shows Maori on a beach riding a moa and playing with it. The second scene shows Tasman and his men landing with sharks and Maori. The third scene shows the arrival of Captain Cook and the reception by Maori. The fourth scene shows the arrival of the missionaries. The fifth scene shows Governor Hobson interrogating Hone Heke about the axing of the flagpole at Russell. The sixth scene shows scenes of the goldrushes.
