The cartoon shows an image of President George Bush dressed as a cowboy and riding a horse up to its withers in muck. In the muck are the words 'Delay, Miers, Rove, Libby'. The president wonders if Makybe Diva, the horse that has just won the Melbourne Cup, would know the meaning of 'hard going' compared with the problems he himself is facing. Lewis Libby is Vice President Dick Cheney's former aide and Karl Rove is the President's top political adviser - they were both charged with leaking the identity of covert CIA operative Valerie Plame. Harriet Miers is the President's personal attorney who he has appointed to the Supreme Court amid a lot of controversy.
