- Description
A lonesome man in a cowboy hat sits holding the reins in a covered wagon which is labelled 'Transpower' and 'pylons' and which has posts and wires protruding from the back. Beside his mournful-looking horse is a large sign pointing to 'The West'. The man's wish that John Wayne were here refers to the consultations with landowners that will be happening as a result of the final route of the proposed 400 kV transmission line between Otahuhu and Whakamaru that has just been finalised. The Transpower worker expects the consultations to be less than straightforward and suspects that a few Wild West cowboys with guns could be useful.
