Description

An enormously swollen football player dominates the scene, overshadowing the figures of the leaders of the forces fighting the South African war, and a Chinese man who has decapitated someone.

Extended Title - Lord Roberts to Kruger - "Its no good, old fellow. You might as well give in, New Zealand isn't a bit interested in us just now." During the interprovincial matches, football appears, in the eyes of the devotees of the game, to have overshadowed every other event.
