- Description
Shows Prime Minister, Helen Clark, and Foreign Affairs Minister, Winston Peters, sitting at a table in a restaurant in China. Each of them holds a menu named 'FTA' (Free Trade Agreement) and a waiter stands nearby. Helen Clark says that she will have the sweet and Mr Peters will have the sour. Refers to the free trade deal made in Beijing on April 10th, 2008, between New Zealand and China. Winston Peters had an ambivalent attitude towards the deal, saying that as leader of New Zealand First he did not like it but as Foreign Affairs Minister for the Labour government he was obliged to agree with it. The little black cloud above his head and the decision that he should have the 'sour' reflects this.
