The cartoon shows six MPs queuing at a 'Ministerial Services ATM'. From the front they are Labour MP Chris Carter who holds a bunch of flowers, National Party Phil Heatley who holds a credit card, Labour MP Shane Jones who is thinking of a massage (image blanked out), ACT leader Rodney Hide who thinks of travel, Labour Mita Ririnui who has a golf bag on his back and deputy PM Bill English who is thinking about his Karori house. Refers to the government's decision to make public, ministerial credit card accounts which has resulted in three Labour ministers being disciplined and demoted - they are Chris Carter, Shane Jones and Mita Ririnui. The fact remains though that only a year ago the National Party's deputy leader Bill English was clearly flouting the rules when he claimed a housing allowance for his Karori house and Phil Heatley resigned his portfolios after revelations of misspending. ACT leader Rodney Hide took his 'girlfriend' on an overseas trip at the taxpayer's expense also. The PM may feel that his party's misdemeanours have been cancelled out by the recent embarrassments for the Labour Party but hypocrisy is rife.
