The steamship Talune at the Napier breakwater on the 2nd of January, 1908. Taken by an unidentified photographer.
The Talune (also known as the Talune I) was built in 1890 and was 2087 tons. Shw was purchased in 1891 by the Union Steamship Company Ltd. In 1925 she was sold to shipbreakers and her hull was sunk at Waikokopu to form a breakwater. (Information from `Ships with New Zealand Association, Vol 7", No 141, by Rex Hardy)
