Shows a group of Maori whare at the right, a horse grazing in the right foreground, a stand of trees in the middle distance, a river with cliff banks, and hills in the distance.
Title formerly transcribed as Makaretu pah, because the word Makaretu is written at top right. Correspondence from Kohine Rata dated September 2010 states that the old Mataweka pah was situated near Waipukurau, rather than Makaretu.
