Gas cookers and baked items on display by a Wanganui gas company (possibly Wanganui Gas Works) photographed by Frank J Denton in 1923. Shows scones, pies, fruit cake, and other items, on a table labeled "Samples of cooking by gas". Gas ovens and hobs are behind. Signs read: "The demonstrator will be pleased to answer any question re cooking by gas"; "Watch the clock and note how long each article takes to cook"; "Gas cookers sold on easy payments and filled free". A poster just visible on the left advertises Acme gas cookers.
