- Description
A man stands in front of Fonterra's Longburn Plant from which effluant disgorges into the Manawatu river running alongside. He advises people who want to drink or bathe to use milk. Refers to the decision made by the Manawatu-Wanganui Regional Council that Fonterra can discharge 8,500 cubic metres of waste water per day into the river from its Longburn dairy factory. Environmentalist groups are appealing against the decision.
