Religious procession in the foreground, road leading up to the Terrace (modern Boulcott Street) on the right, goats grazing on the left, an outbuilding with barrels outside behind the goats and the chapel with bell in the centre of the view. The chapel was located on the corner of Boulcott and Manners Streets, the site of St Mary of the Angels.

Original watercolour for this view held by Marist Archives, Wellington (Library has copy, neg C18929 + colour transparencies). It shows a man accompanied by two women where the engraving shows a religious procession. There are no goats grazing in the left foreground, simply a flat grassed area. Otherwise the details of buildings and terrain are much as shown in the engraving.
