Description

Railway construction camp, Taranaki. Shows a group of workers' tents mounted beside a railway line, surrounded by burnt off bush. To the left, a train is stopped beside a large shed. A fence runs along both sides of the railroad. In the background, the base of Mt Taranaki (Mt Egmont) is faintly visible through mist. Photograph taken circa 1905, by James McAllister.
