- Description
Shows a cartoon strip of Don Brash, leader of the National Party arguing with a tree - "I've had it with you & your kind!" "You hog space where a perfectly good office block could grow." "One which could support cubicles of pallid people tapping keyboards ... organising the growth of new blocks of cubicles for pallid keyboard tappers!" "GOD! I command you to remove this impediment to development!". A dark cloud above omits a lighting bolt - 'ZAP!'. Don Brash disappears into a pile of smoking ash and finally a plant seedling begins to grow from his ashes. Refers to a June 2005 address to the Electricity Engineers Association by National Party leader Don Brash in which he promised a major overhaul of the Resource Management Act (RMA) within three months of taking office. Brash described the RMA as an impediment to the development of infrastructure, which is reducing the ability of the economy to grow.
