Description

The cartoon shows Prime Minister John Key dressed in a stone age skin and shouting 'Yabba! Dabba! Doooo!' as he slides down the tail of a dinosaur that represents 'NZ's emissions target'. Refers to the announcement that New Zealand will cut its greenhouse gas emissions by 10 to 20 percent below 1990 levels by 2020 that critics say is disappointing and inadequate. Kim Carstensen, leader of the WWF's Global Climate Initiative said in a statement "the New Zealand Government's new climate target is disappointingly weak and inadequate. The Government has ignored the science and is pursuing an irresponsible policy that is against the interests of New Zealand's people and natural environment."
