Description

The scene shows a bulldozer preparing a cricket pitch in the middle of the remains of a shantytown in Zimbabwe. In the distance a second bulldozer is wrecking a few shanties still standing. Refers to the problem that the New Zealand Cricket Council faces as the team prepares for a visit to Zimbabwe in August. Robert Mugabe, President of Zimbabwe has ordered police to clear shantytowns and has thus made thousands of poor people homeless. In the face of growing outrage at Mugabe's human rights abuses the cricket team is being called on not to go to Zimbabwe. Because of the International Cricket Council's intransigence, the New Zealanders will have to pay a huge fine if they do not go.
