Wadi Hanein is a water course and locality in the vicinity of Jaffa, probably to the south east. It is also one of the wadis that feed into the water courses which reach the coast as the river, Nahr Rubin. Also, according to C Guy Powles in his book "The New Zealanders in Sinai and Palestine," Whitcome and Tombs, 1922, pp 154-155, in 1917 it was the name of a town which was a Jewish garden settlement (the Jewish name of which was "Nachalat Reuben"). On November the 14th 1917 the New Zealand Mounted Division attacked the Turks in the orange groves of Wadi Hanein as part of the British Army's move on Jaffa.
