Photographs, taken by Anthony C Elworthy, chiefly of aeroplanes and general aviation in the 1930s, especially of a De Havilland Dragonfly but also including images of a Pan Am Boeing Clipper, Gloster Meteor, Hawker Tomtit, Bristol FZB and of a Percival Vega Gull. Also includes 1 photograph of aeroplanes at the Canterbury Aero Club. Also includes images of aeroplanes at Nandi, Fiji, circa 1940..

Also, photographs of World War II shipping, including prints relating to the ships Rangatira, Awatea, Aquitane and Aquitania. Also includes photographs of the Maadi Tank School during World War II and 1 of 5 members of 26 Battalion, D Company at Alamein in July 1942.

Also, photographs of tame deer in Haast; mountaineering (including images of the Elworthy family) and aerial photographs of Sydney Harbour.

Also, 7 photographs by James Ring, including 1 of Jacksons Accomodation House on Christchurch Road, 1 of Archer's punt on the Inangahua River, 1 of Hawkes Crag, 1 of sluicing at Humphrey's Gully, 1 of the Otira Accomodation House, 1 of the Otira Hotel, and 1 titled `Lake Pearson, Looking toward Cragieburn'.
