'The Politician' cartoon strip. The minister has presented the PM with his 'idea of introducing a carbon tax to reduce emissions' and is eager to know whether the PM liked it. His aide says it 'has gone up in smoke' (ie 'been burned'). Context - the continuing struggle to get carbon emissions down which has not been helped by the PM's burning of a good idea. There is a certain amount of ironic truth in the cartoon which suggests that the government is not taking global warming seriously in its struggle to stabilise the economy.
