Looking along the beach with several low thatched huts and a canoe pulled up on the beach, bush on the hills behind. Two Maori men are seated in the foreground, and other men and women are also present. A toetoe is in flower to the right of the nearest dwelling
Similar to, but reversed from Sainson's lithograph 'Village a l'anse de l'Astrolabe'. Possibly based on a drawing looking in the opposite direction
