The main subjects of this collection are: rifle shooting, harriers, fire brigades, rugby, horse racing, cycling and two royal tours. The royal tour photographs are taken in 1920, during the visit of the Prince of Wales, and in 1927, during the visit of the Duke and Duchess of York.
Other subjects include: the timber industry, gardens, brass bands and musicians.
There are also some unidentified group and single portraits along with some images of Auckland, Picton, Christchurch and ferry boats.
Many photographs are taken by either Edward Thomas Robson or the firm of Robson & Boyer. Other photographs are embossed with the photographer's stamp "Guy Photo Dunedin".
From circa 1917 Guy Studio was known as Cazna and continued following Guy Morris' death in 1918.
