Shows men outside their huts, preparing horses and sleds for an expedition to reach the South Pole. A photographer stands at the left with his camera on a tripod.
Gaumont first released the film "With Captain Scott to the South Pole" in 1912. The "second series" must also have been issued in the same year, because an accompanying leaflet advertising the second series (at Eph-B-ANTARCTICA-1912) indicates that the fate of Scott and his men was unknown at the time. The Library holds several posters from the original and the second series. Herbert Ponting later bought the rights and released his version in 1913 or 1914.
