Description

The steam and sail ship Wellington entering Wellington Heads with Pencarrow in the background. The Red Ensign is flying at the stern and sailors can be seen on deck

"Painted by ex-fiance of Anne E Barber. Artist, a Swedish officer was drowned at sea'. This information came with the painting when it was acquired by the Library. However the style is strongly reminiscent of that of William Forster, who died of diphtheria in Sydney.
