- Description
The cartoon shows PM John Key staring anxiously into the chasm between the shores of New Zealand and the shores of Australia while Australia's new prime minister Julia Gillard smiles cheerfully on the other side. Refers to the ousting of former PM Kevin Rudd by Julia Gillard in a bloodless coup. The cartoon is suggesting that John Key will need to rethink some of his policies in relation to Australia with the arrival of a new PM. Eg. Managing the ETS (Emissions Trading Scheme), the SEM (single economic market) and the Joint Therapeutic Products Authority.
