Shows a fashionably dressed woman and child in the right foreground beside a new car, with the new nurses' home, of Spanish Mission style, in the background.
The original painting won the New Zealand Technical College art prize, where contestants were required to depict a modern building,modern car, and modern fashion.
Seven nurses lost their lives when this building was destroyed in 1931.
