Description

Shows a mission station, a long low building with a verandah, beneath lofty mountains. There are coconut palms and other trees around the building. In the middle distance, a man carries bunches of coconuts on both ends of a pole on his shoulder

The settlement named in Bennet and Tyerman as Bunaauia is now known as Punaauia

Rev Daniel Tyerman was with the London Missionary Society when acting as a missionary in the Society Islands in the early 1820s
