A fortification on top of a hill to the left, above the Waikato River. Compare the artist's 'Tuakau, Lower Waikato, 1864' (WC-018) showing the same fortifications from the opposite side.
Probably shows the Alexandra Redoubt, established at Tuakau in 1863
