Ships berthed at wharves in Lyttelton Harbour. The royal yacht Britannia is in the left background. Photograph taken for the National Publicity Studios by B Clark in December 1956.
Note on back of file print reads: "Tug Lyttelton 2 and pilot boat Wairangai by Britannia. TEV Maori at interisland wharf and MV Calm on near side (Canterbury Steam S Co). RNZN escorting frigate middle right (for Brittania). Canterbury dredge in distant dry dock. Blue Star ship forground. Federal Line distant right."
