Description

Shows the hotel, damaged so that one can see into each room as in a doll's-house. The ground floor is of brick with rounded window arches. Each room is papered in a different pattern.

One of a series of paintings made by McNab, an eighteen-year-old student at Napier Technical College, immediately after the earthquake. He worked day and night for two days, and daily thereafter, to make a pictorial record of the event (See "Dominion", 27 January 1989, page 6).
