Description

The cartoon shows Prime Minister John Key playing the part of American television talk show host David Letterman; he is dressed as an impresario with a top hat and a walking stick. He pulls a trolley on which is a huge paper bag filled with screaming yahooing people who punch their arms, legs and heads through the bag; they are described as 'Letterman's audience'. John Key tips his hat and says 'Laughing, cheering, clapping on cue! I'm taking 'em back for my media scrums!' Refers to the fact that during the visit of Prime Minister John Key to the United Nations General Assembly he was a guest on the Letterman Late Night show. He now believes that the Letterman audience might be good for his own media scrums in Wellington.
