- Description
American President-elect, Barack Obama, stands beneath a large banner that reads 'Change' and surveys a huge aggressive-looking pig with a ring in its nose that is shackled to Obama's ankle. The pig has the words 'U.S. Israel first at all costs policy' and Obama suggests applying lipstick. Refers to the conflict between Israel and Gaza which is the first thing Obama will have to deal with when he becomes president 20 January, 2009. Obama got into trouble when he used the term in relation to a discussion about the Republican presidential candidate's running mate, Sarah Palin. 'Putting lipstick on a pig is slang for when someone tries to dress something up, but it is still that something.
