Description

Man with hat on fishing from a rock in the centre foreground. The Hutt River is bounded by beech trees on each side of the river. On the right hand bank beside the beech tree are two young rimu trees. On another beech tree behind the two rimu trees mistletoe is shown flowering on this host beech tree.

An identical watercolour in the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery is titled on the verso by the artist 'Hutt River'. Like the Turnbull's work, it is dated 1860
